The red water tower, located in Kløften, was built in 1924, and was part of the city's efforts to ensure good and plentiful water for the citizens, who became more and more numerous after reunification. On January 1, 1925, the tower was put into use for the first time, and there was public access to the water tower from 1924 - 1966, where you could enter and enjoy the view over the city.
With this water tower, Haderslev gained an attraction, as the view from the gluing hole wreath is fantastic. The view is beautiful over the city's roofs and the surrounding land, from the Little Belt in the east to far in over the southern Jutland hill country to the west.
The red water tower no longer functions as a water tower. However, today the water tower is a symbol of the Kløften Festival, which is held every year in June, when the schools have a summer holiday. In addition, the water tower bears the city's Advent star in the last weeks of the year, and spreads Christmas cheer in the month of December.
You can visit the tower every Sunday in July between 13:00 and 16:00 and on August 6 between 13:00 and 16:00
