Duke Hans was a man who gave Haderslev his heyday from the middle of the 1500th century and 100 years onwards. He was the younger brother of King Christian III, and in his time as Duke, among other things. built the magnificent Renaissance castle Hansborg, Hertug Hans Hospital and social institutions such as. the poor.
On the trip you will get stories and anecdotes about the Duke's eventful life and his significance for Haderslev city. You come through Haderslev's old town and will see beautiful historic houses along the way, all the way back from the Duke's time. This trip is made especially for 2021, when the city of Haderslev marks Duke Hans' 500th birthday. At the annual Duke Hans Festival, his birth will be marked, the festival is every year the 1st weekend in June.
