At Arkæologi Haderslev you can experience some of the finest archaeological finds from the southern Jutland soil - i.a. Denmark's oldest grave, magnificent weapon finds from Ejsbøl Mose and parts of Hansborg Castle from the mid-1500th century.
In the outdoor museum you can experience historic farms and buildings from Southern Jutland, a rare stump mill and ancient graves.
A visit to Archeology Haderslev's exhibition is like a journey through history, where you go 10.000 years back in time to the Stone Age and meet Denmark's oldest grave, see beautiful gold bowls from the Bronze Age, experience a magnificent bog find with weapons from the Iron Age, an elaborate mane chair (harness fittings ) from the Viking Age and much more.
See the new digital installation of the Skrydstrup woman's grave - where museum people from Haderslev in 1935 excavated an extremely well-preserved young woman from the Bronze Age in a burial mound in a field in Skrydstrup. In the new digital antiquities exhibition, you can join the excavation and explore the burial find yourself.
Experience one of Denmark's oldest open-air museums at Arkæologi Haderslev for free. Here you get the opportunity to step into several hundred-year-old half-timbered houses and discover how the population lived and worked in the past. Through the open-air department, you will find outdoor signs, which also contain fun information particularly aimed at the smallest museum visitors.
Museum Sønderjylland stands for archeology in the whole of Sønderjylland, and you will often be able to see the latest archaeological finds on display at the museum.
